Musical Experiences
Graduate with highest honors from the University of Illinois with an Applied Flute degree, (Flute Performance) having attended on a full scholarship entitled, Outstanding Young Women in Music. Minors in Piano and Voice with coursework towards a Choral Education degree. Other education includes an MLIS and an MBA. Studied with Alexander Murray, Mary Louise Poor and Frank Suetholtz.
While Miss Illinois, performed around the state of Illinois, including flute/guitar recitals with Ken Rothacker, guest soloist with the Illinois Valley Orchestra, auctions, dinners, luncheons and many pageant performance, also emceeing.
30+ years teaching private flute and piano instruction; youth music classes at the Fox Valley Repertoire Theater; music directed numerous youth musicals for various organizations.
Five years principal flute in the Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra where she was also a featured soloist. Fox Valley Philharmonic Wind Ensemble. Multiple pit orchestras including Jekyll and Hyde, and Into the Woods. Principal flute in pickup orchestras for the Nutcracker. Filled in for the Racine Symphony and Fox Valley Community Orchestra.
Eight time winner of a seat in the Professional Flute Choir with the National Flute Association. One time winner of a seat in the Jazz Flute Big Band.
Other performing includes dinners, receptions and weddings with classical guitarist, Ken Rothacker. Also hired to play in Christmas production orchestras.
Church experience includes seven years in a traveling Christian band playing keyboards, flute and background vocals; many years in a local church worship band playing flute, keys and even keyboard bass parts. Led a church flute ensemble.
Composer, arranger, songwriter, performer, recording artist and sound recording engineer. Home studio built upon Ableton Live Suite.
